Marcos Alonso reveals what Chelsea will be doing ahead of the Europa League final vs Arsenal

Arsenal and Chelsea fans are now counting down the days until the Europa League final following the completion of the Premier League season.

While the Gunners are busy preparing for the showpiece finale at their London Colney training base, the Blues jetted off across the Atlantic to take part in a friendly against MLS side New England Revolution.

Maurizio Sarri had concerns about the game in the United States and he was certainly proved right with Ruben Loftus-Cheek now facing several months on the sidelines after rupturing his Achilles tendon in the 3-0 win.

Now that the Chelsea team are back in the capital ahead of the final in Azerbaijan at the end of the month, Marcos Alonso has revealed what will be going on at Cobham over the next 11 days.

"We have a couple of days to rest now but of course we will be with our head in the game so there will be a little bit of light training and then in two days we are back to full training to be ready for the final," the Spaniard told Chelsea's official website .

Alonso added: "A final for a European title, it is massive for us and we will try to prepare 120 per cent and try to bring the trophy back to London."

With many pointing to the fact that the friendly against New England Revolution would disrupt the team's buildup ahead of the game in Baku, Cesar Azpilicueta believes the team have ample time to prepare to face their London rivals.

"It is nearly two weeks until the final and we will have plenty of time to train hard and have some rest," said Azpilicueta.

"It is very important to arrive in good condition after a long season."

The two players Maurizio Sarri should promote to the Chelsea first team next season
