Marco Silva warns Everton players there is nowhere to hide against Sheffield Wednesday

Marco Silva has told his players there is nowhere to hide ahead of Everton's Carabao Cup tie at Sheffield Wednesday tonight.

The Blues ' boss was speaking after defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday and has demanded a reaction from his squad.

"It is not the moment for anyone to hide," said Silva . "I said it inside the dressing room too, there is nowhere we can hide, we have to show stronger character, personality.

"It is a moment for us to go and play football and take responsibility as well, I am always here for our fans. I will not hide, no one can hide."

Saturday's result leaves Silva's side 14th in the Premier League and with Champions Manchester City to play at the weekend, victory tonight is pivotal.

Sheffield Wednesday are 9th in the Championship, having won one and lost won since Garry Monk's appointment as manager.

"We have to look at respecting the competition, respecting our goals for that competition and what we want to achieve in it," Silva added.

"We have to be strong, we want to go to the next round, so that is what we want, a reaction in this game."
