Marco Silva urges Fulham to show their character and tough it out at Millwall

Marco Silva has called on Fulham to show their “character and personality” at Millwall tonight as they bid to make another early statement about their promotion aims.

The Cottagers began the season with a disappointing draw at home to Middlesbrough but bounced back with an eye-catching 5-1 win at Huddersfield.

Now, in a fierce atmosphere at London rivals Millwall, the Portuguese wants his side to show the spirit that blew away their opponents on Saturday.

“We’ve analysed them, we played against them during pre-season,” Silva said of Gary Rowett’s side. “Of course they know what to expect from us as well, and it will be for sure a tough game, like always.

“But we expected a really tough game against Huddersfield and we had a good performance.

“We all expect a tough one against Millwall for sure, but what we want to do is compete again, and get the points we want for ourselves. It will be tough, they are a tough team to play against.

“I can tell you that it’s a good atmosphere to play football in and sometimes it can be difficult, but it’s a good one for us to play to show the character and the personality of our team.

“It will be good, it will be tough, but we are ready.”

Fulham will be without the suspended Harry Wilson though Harrison Reed has a chance of featuring after returning to training.
