Marco Silva reveals surprise Everton injury news ahead of Tottenham clash

Marco Silva has revealed some surprise Everton injury news as his side prepare to take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Blues have been in good form at home against top six sides in recent months, and will be looking to take those strong displays on the road and secure a win away from home in the last game of the season on Sunday.

However, the boss has confirmed he could be without a trio of key players.

Silva confirmed that Richarlison will definitely be out of the trip to north London this weekend with a rib injury, which forced him out of the game against Brighton, while Seamus Coleman is also a doubt.

Everton boss Marco Silva addresses Andre Gomes transfer rumours as Tottenham switch linked

The boss said: "Let's see if Coleman can play or not. He will be a doubt, let's see tomorrow. It's nothing special, a small problem in his groin.

"Richarlison came out of the last game with a problem with his rib. He will be out of the next game, definitely."

Silva also commented on Dominic Calvert-Lewin's fitness, and confirmed Everton will be without the striker this weekend.

The manager added: "He's injured at this moment, he's not able to play the next match. It was a kick in training, the first day of the week.

"Nothing special, but for the next match he will not be available.

Meanwhile, Silva was also asked again about the contract situations of both Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka.

The Everton stalwarts are out-of-contract in the summer and there has been no update on a new deal being offered to either player yet.

But the manager has said talks are ongoing between the club and both defenders.

“We keep talking with them is what I can tell you," Silva added.

Everton fan's brilliant gesture to help less fortunate Blues get to Goodison Park

“Even with Jags and Leighton we kept talking with them.

“It’s something for us and them to decide. Let’s see what happens in the next few days.”
