Marco Silva on what Djibril Sidibe brings to Everton - and what transfer means for Seamus Coleman

Marco Silva believes he has a pair of “high-quality” right-backs at his disposal after Djibril Sidibe joined on loan.

The 27-year-old joins from AS Monaco for the season but the Blues have the option to turn his move into a permanent transfer next summer.

Sidibe has been brought in to provide competition and cover for Seamus Coleman and Silva is thrilled at the strength in depth the squad now has in that position.

“Djibril has fantastic experience, winning titles and playing many matches in a competitive league,” he said. “He is a World Cup winner and he has the hunger to achieve much more in his career.

“It is important to have different options in each position and with Djibril and Seamus [Coleman] we now have two high-quality right-backs.

“Djibril has also shown to me he has a real desire to play for Everton and be part of the big things we are trying to create.”
