Marco Silva makes Yerry Mina fitness admission as Mason Holgate prepares for potential Everton return

Marco Silva has confirmed Yerry Mina remains a doubt for Everton's trip to Brighton on Saturday.

The defender put in a man-of-the-match display in the win over West Ham last weekend, but was withdrawn shortly before full time and replaced by Mason Holgate.

The Colombia international is nursing a knee injury picked up in the 2-0 triumph over the Hammers, with the manager revealing in his post-match press conference that the 25-year-old had not yet had a full training session with his teammates this week.

"Not so good at the moment, not so good news," Silva confirmed .

"Of course we have one more day to prepare for the game, let's see how he [Mina] will be tomorrow and on the matchday as well.

"It's not a serious, serious injury - but it's something that means until now he hasn't been able to work with a full session."

Holgate was the man brought on for Mina on Saturday, and is set to be the man called on again to replace the Colombia international if he is ruled out of the match against Brighton.

And Silva is adamant the 23-year-old is ready for action if selected.

"Yeah, he's ready," the manager added.

"He's showed to me every single day he's working hard to achieve his chance. He already did in two Carabao Cup matches and did well.

"I'm 100% sure if he has the chance he'll be ready to perform at this level."

Silva also confirmed that Fabian Delph and Morgan Schneiderlin are back to full fitness and in contention for selection against Brighton.

Both missed last weekend's win over the Hammers.
