Marco Silva and his backroom staff are at Finch Farm this morning to begin preparations for Saturday’s game with Chelsea.
But the 42-year-old’s future at Everton remains in serious doubt following last night’s 5-2 humiliation against Liverpool .
Silva was braced for the sack last night but majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has decided to wait until today before making his next move.
Should Silva be dismissed then David Moyes remains the favourite to replace him, with discussions over the Scot also now including the possibility of appointing Tim Cahill as his assistant.
But Silva remains in charge for the time being although following last night’s heavy defeat at Anfield he was unable to say if he would still be in position for the weekend’s clash with Chelsea.
