Marco Silva hails the Fulham 'way' as Alex Iwobi strikes late winner at Manchester United

Marco Silva hailed his Fulham side following their dramatic 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Alex Iwobi struck deep into stoppage time to hand the Cottagers their first Premier League win at the Theatre of Dreams in 21 years, minutes after Harry Maguire looked to have secured the hosts a point following Calvin Bassey’s opener.

It was only Fulham’s second away win of the season and Silva’s side proved good value for it. The in-form Rodrigo Muniz smacked the post in the first-half, one of a number of good chances Fulham squandered before their late show.

Silva was pleased with the attacking enterprise his team showed, claiming Fulham simply will not change their “way” either home or away.

“I'm pleased how we played at the start of the second half,” said the Portuguese.

"After we scored we knew there would be a reaction. We tried to play offside for their goal but there was not the synchronisation we wanted and as they pushed, we showed the mentality which we had missed in other away games. It was a great counter and a great finish.

"The players deserve great credit because they understood the plan and executed the plan. It was an open game, we don't change away or at home. This is our way."

The win takes the west London side to within three points of rivals Chelsea in the top of half of the table, albeit the Blues will have a game in hand as they contest Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.
