Marco Silva admits concern about strange problem in Everton's season

Marco Silva has admitted a major problem in Everton's season, which he has described as "not something normal".

The Portuguese manager took his in-form side to Craven Cottage on Saturday hoping for them to secure their fourth consecutive win in the Premier League.

However, after strong performances against Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal in recent weeks, the Blues put in a lacklustre display against the already relegated Fulham.

The hosts emerged 2-0 winners thanks to second-half strikes from Tom Cairney and Ryan Babel, leaving fans frustrated making the long journey back to Merseyside.

The result also meant that Everton are still yet to win a match under Silva that they have fallen behind in.

The Blues have found themselves losing at some stage of 17 Premier League games so far these term and have failed to come back and win any of them - losing 14 and drawing three.

In some of those matches Silva's side found themselves behind from an early stage, and he admitted his side not managing to find a way to fight back does concern him.

"Of course, no doubt about that," the manager told the ECHO when asked if it was a problem that needed addressing.

"When you have the obligation to go and change a result and we haven't done that this season it's something that concerns me.

"It's something I've spoke about with our players, because it's not something normal. It's something we have to sort as soon as possible."

Lacklustre Everton deserved nothing against Fulham as Marco Silva left wondering over his side

The Blues had gone into this weekend's match at Craven Cottage in good form.

In recent games against West Ham and Arsenal in particular Everton dominated proceedings with big amounts of energy and quality on the ball shown.

That was missing against Fulham this weekend, and Silva knew that was a big factor behind his side not being able to compete with the hosts.

The boss added: "Football is like that. In football if you don't put all your intensity and aggression into a match you are not able to win.

"They were aggressive, they were intense. If you can put the same in, then you can achieve a different result."
