Marco Rose will not be taking over at Celtic in the summer it has been confirmed.
The RB Salzburg boss was among the favourites to be the next permanent boss at Parkhead with the Hoops hierarchy set to make a decision in the summer.
But Germain giants Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed the 42-year-old will be taking over at Borussia Park at the end of the current campaign.
Rose himself said this morning: "My decision-making process was already a bit complete. First you discuss this with the family then with the players and the staff. I'm glad this intense phase is now over.
"There were many arguments to stay in Salzburg. I know what I owe to the club and I was able to develop as a coach and enjoy great moments.
"The cat is out of the bag now. It's all about bringing results again. Just as we've always managed to do in the last few weeks. "
Gladbach announced current boss Dieter Hecking would be leaving the club on Tuesday.
Rose has been with RB Salzburg since 2017, winning the Austrian Bundesliga last season as well as leading the club to the Europa League semi-finals.
He won plaudits for his attacking football and impressed Celtic fans as his side romped to the top of their Europa League group this season - beating the Scottish champions home and away.
