Marco Reus reveals 'key' to crushing Chelsea dream as Borussia Dortmund fired pressure warning

Marco Reus has warned his Borussia Dortmund teammates that their clash with Chelsea is the home side's 'game of the season'. The Blues will welcome the German side to Stamford Bridge this evening as Graham Potter looks to turnaround a one-goal deficit and secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Karim Adeyemi broke the deadlock against the west Londoners at the Signal Iduna Park in the first-leg after catching Chelsea on the counter-attack on the second-half. The 21-year-old glided past Enzo Fernandez before slaloming around Kepa Arrizabalaga and slotting the ball into an empty net.

The Blues could now have one less problem on their hands after Adeyemi went off injured against Hertha Berlin last month. But, despite the talisman's potential absence, Reus is hopeful of leading Dortmund into the next round.

Speaking to the press ahead of the blockbuster clash, the Germany international admitted that his side are in for a 'enormous' challenge but he revealed the 'key' to overcoming Chelsea. As quoted by the Mirror, Reus said: "People know that Chelsea are not in good moment, but in the first leg they played well and our victory wasn’t easy.

"Now for Chelsea, this match will be key, it is their match of the season, and that means we can expect an enormous and significant amount of pressure from the first minute. I expect a very hard match in London and while our advantage is small, it at least permits us to manage the situation.

"We are in a good moment and that is positive, although nobody thinks we can go to England and be calm," the Dortmund captain added. "Chelsea have an excellent squad with some very big names and it is very rare that they are not in an excellent position in the Premier League.

"Now, I hope that Chelsea don’t reawaken this week in London. We know the importance of this Tuesday because we are dreaming of going very far in the Champions League. And the key to this game for us will be our mentality."

Just hours before the bout, Dortmund were seen training on a hired pitch at the Artillery Ground in Islington, central London. With the visitors set to go at it hammer and tongs, Chelsea could be in for a tough evening.
