'Marco Polo' producer sues Harvey Weinstein for $10M, claims he sexually harassed and assaulted her for years

Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was slapped Wednesday with a lawsuit by an associate producer who alleges he sexually harassed, intimidated and assaulted her over a period of years.

The woman, Alexandra Canosa, was a producer on the Netflix series "Marco Polo," according to IMDB. Weinstein was an executive producer of the series.

"Harvey Weinstein threatened plaintiff and made it clear that if she did not succumb to his demands or if she exposed his unwanted conduct there would be retaliation, including humiliation, the loss of her job and any ability to work in the entertainment business," papers read.

Canosa's summons names The Weinstein Company and its board of directors as defendants.

The suit says the company and board "knew or should have known about Harvey Weinstein's conduct, and did not act to correct or curtail such activity."

Earlier this month, six women sued Weinstein and his former business, seeking class action status for their lawsuit, alleging he was a serial predator surrounded by sophisticated enablers.

Weinstein has acknowledged he "caused a lot of pain" but has denied any sexual assaults. Dozens of women, including prominent actresses, have alleged Weinstein bullied and sexually harassed them while threatening their livelihoods if they didn't give in to his advances. Some women have charged they were raped by Weinstein.
