Marco Bizot 'wanted' for Celtic transfer but Stade Brest set out firm signing stance

Celtic are considering a move for Stade Brest keeper Marco Bizot in January, according to a report.

The 30-year-old Dutchman only joined the Ligue 1 side in August 2021 and has played 90 minutes in all 13 of their league fixtures this season.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to be busy in January as he seeks to add depth to his squad in their Premiership title bid.

Joe Hart has commanded the number one jersey but Vasilis Barkas is expected to depart and Scott Bain has barely featured under the new manager.

According to Homme du Match, Celtic could pursue a move for Bizot during the winter transfer window.

It's said the deal could take the form of a loan with an obligation to buy next summer, with the French club unlikely to countenance anything else.

The report states Bizot has not settled in Brittany, although it seems likely Brest would be reluctant to part with him so shortly after joining the club.

Bizot had previously made more than 150 appearances for AZ Alkmaar before joining Brest.
