Former Leeds United striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says Marcelo Bielsa is unlikely to care about Pablo Hernandez's anger at him during the Whites' win over Barnsley.
Leeds ran out 1-0 winners at Elland Road courtesy of a first-half own goal that leaves them on the brink of promotion to the Premier League.
Yet the Whites did not have everything their own way in the game and, after being on at half-time as a substitute, Hernandez was replaced by Jamie Shackleton in added on time.
Despite being on a yellow card, Hernandez seemed aggrieved at the decision to replace him as the Whites saw out a victory.
Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Hasselbaink said that Bielsa's decision showed the manager's ruthlessness.
When asked if Hernandez seemed happy with the choice, Hasselbaink said: "No and Marcelo Bielsa won’t care. It’s his decision.
"Especially the last game against Fulham as well, where Patrick Bamford scored, but was playing bad and they were not playing well.
"A lot of managers would’ve seen that, but a lot of managers wouldn’t have taken Bamford off.
"He took him off and put Hernandez in, and it went a lot better.
"He’s not afraid to make big decisions. He’s ruthless.
"You have to be, you have to be."
It was not the first time this season that Hernandez was taken off after coming on as a substitute.
The 35-year-old was involved in a similar situation during the Whites' win over Fulham last month as he came on at half-time but was replaced in the 89th minute.
