Reading prospect Michael Olise has been urged to choose Leeds United over reported interest from other Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old is one of the most highly-rated young players in the Championship.
Since making his debut for the Royals in March 2019, aged 17, the attacking midfielder has already clocked up a total of 71 appearances for the club in all competitions.
With five goals to his name, Olise has featured in all but two of Reading's games this season, too, as they continue to mount a charge for Premier League promotion.
Regardless of what division they are in next campaign, though, it seems increasingly likely that Olise will find himself in the top flight as clubs prepare to battle for his signature during the summer transfer window.
Reports of an £8million release clause in his contract has been enough to alert the attention of Leeds, Liverpool and Spurs as they turn their attentions towards their latest recruitment drive.
However, according to former Leeds striker Noel Whelan, there is only place for the Frenchman, capped at under-18 level, to continue his development right now - under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: "You look at the style of play, the way we bring young players through. The fact that we've got a great team ethic, relationship and bond between the players, you can see that. Why would you not want to?
"It's about the progression of his career. Right now, I think even if you had two or three years at Leeds, that will be beneficial to him."
Olise, who played 79 minutes as Reading drew 1-1 at home to QPR yesterday afternoon, has scored five goals so far this Championship campaign - in addition to laying on nine assists.
