Marcelo Bielsa tipped to stay at Leeds United as talks progress

Marcelo Bielsa has been tipped to have a second crack at getting Leeds United back into the Premier League.

Leeds lost out in the play-off semi-finals to Derby County after a poor run of form saw them fall behind Sheffield United in the race for second place.

The 63-year-old took over at Elland Road last summer and despite not being able to take Leeds up this season, he is odds-on (4/9) to stay as manager next term - and 2/1 to leave before the start of the season.

Bielsa has been linked with a host of clubs away from Elland Road, including Roma, after he raised question marks about his future following the defeat to Derby.

He said: "It's not as you can imagine convenient to talk about this point right now.

"Anyway, the process and you know about this process, that's why I'm talking about it, if the club offers me the possibility to carry on I will listen to this proposal."

But it seems that the Whites hierarchy are confident that the former Argentina gaffer will remain at the club, who are one of the early favourites 6/4 to get promoted out of the Championship next season.

Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta has been holding talks with Biesla to keep him at the club with Leeds determined to persuade him to stay for another campaign.

The latest odds suggest there could be good news on the horizon for Leeds United fans.

A SportNation.Bet spokesperson said: “The betting suggests it now looks increasingly likely that Bielsa will commit his future to Leeds United for at least one more year - he took the Yorkshire giants so close and feels he has unfinished business to get the Elland Road faithful dreaming of the promised land once again"
