Marcelo Bielsa speaks out on Pontus Jansson's Elland Road return

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has had his say on Pontus Jansson's much publicised return to Elland Road.

Jansson signed for Championship rivals Brentford for an undisclosed fee last month, and his first trip to LS11 as an opposition player arrives early in the season.

The Swede will return to Leeds with his new side on Wednesday night (21/08), with opinion split on how he will be received by the Elland Road faithful.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference Bielsa once again reiterated his belief that Jansson was United's best player last season, and discussed his controversial return.

"He deserves to be received with the right reception" Bielsa said.

"He was the best player last season. I cannot talk about his previous years because I wasn’t here.

"He did a high level last season. I appreciate what Jansson gave to the team.

"I think the fans are going to be fair and recognise what Jansson did here."
