Marcelo Bielsa says Leeds United can only blame themselves for not beating Nottingham Forest

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa says it would be wrong to point fingers at referee Robert Jones for denying his side a victory at Elland Road after his forwards missed a number of crucial chances in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Forest left Leeds happy with a draw on an afternoon dominated by the home side, who felt aggrieved not to have been awarded a second half spot-kick after their penalty appeals were waved away.

The Whites led briefly through Pablo Hernandez before Lewis Grabban brought the Reds level, but Bielsa found himself angered more by his side's inability to finish the game off rather than any of Jones' decisions.

"It is very difficult to be a referee and making mistakes is part of the possibilities of their job," Bielsa told Sky Sports with the help of his translator.

"I don't know if it was a penalty or not.

"I don't think that the end result was decided by that penalty decision, because we had enough chances to win the game without refereeing decisions."

He continued: "We have lost two points. We are disappointed with the result.

"Today we attacked well and we defended well, too.

"(Finishing teams off) is, of course, one of our weaknesses that we have."

Leeds had the better of Forest for long periods in Yorkshire, but after the hosts had taken the lead Sabri Lamouchi's side rallied and fought to snatch what could prove to be a vital point come the end of the campaign.

"Today, they (Forest) could not make counter attacks and, at the same time, we created more than ten chances at goal," continued Bielsa.

"We created a scenario where they could not create chances, and we did create chances.

"But of course, being able to score is something that is key."
