Marcelo Bielsa's take on the Championship table after surprise results go Leeds United's way

Inconsistency across the Championship means Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa will continue to ignore the league table for now.

Thirteen matches remain with the gap between the Whites and the play-offs back out to three points, but it could have been so different.

Going into Saturday’s round of matches United could have found themselves level on points with Bristol and outside the top two.

However, Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion took points off each other, Fulham lost to Barnsley, Brentford dropped two points to Birmingham City and Preston North End lost to Millwall.

While the table may look favourable this weekend, one week changes everything and, as such, Bielsa will continue to divert his attention elsewhere.

“I see the distance in the table is too short,” he said. “Every team in the bottom can beat one at the top of the table.

“The conclusion every seven days about this is not something I should do.”
