Marcelo Bielsa reveals double injury boost for Leeds United ahead of Sheffield Wednesday clash

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that Pablo Hernandez and Jamie Shackleton will both be available for Saturday's clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

"Both of them are available in the group," Bielsa said in his Thorp Arch press conference on Thursday lunchtime previewing this weekend's Yorkshire derby, while he also allayed any fears over Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford who appeared to pick up knocks during Mondays' FA Cup defeat at Arsenal.

"They are fine," he continued.

Hernandez has been out of action since limping off with a hamstring problem during the first minute of last month's defeat at Fulham, while Shackleton stepped up his recovery from a muscular injury with a run-out for the under-23s against Hull City on Sunday.

Leeds host Wednesday in a Yorkshire derby on Saturday afternoon as they look to put their FA Cup exploits against Arsenal behind them and return to their primary objective this season, in finally escaping the Championship.

The Whites begin the weekend as the divisions leaders, ahead of promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion on goal difference. The Baggies visit Lee Bowyer's Charlton Athletic side on Saturday.
