Marcelo Bielsa provides Kalvin Phillips solution as Leeds United team news confirmed vs Chelsea

Marcelo Bielsa takes his side to the European champions this afternoon, to begin a run of particularly troubling Premier League fixtures against the division's premium sides.

Leeds United face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge first, before a visit to Manchester City, a home game versus Arsenal and a Boxing Day match-up with Liverpool over the next three weeks.

Leeds have struggled with injuries to several first-team players on multiple matchdays this season, and today's daunting visit to the capital is no different.

Bielsa is tasked with replacing Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Rodrigo Moreno and Patrick Bamford in the squad today, with the first-team quartet ruled out through injury.

As a result of their collective absence, a number of U23 players have been promoted to the first-team group, many of whom took the opportunity to examine the playing surface ahead of kick-off.

Bielsa has chosen Tyler Roberts in his XI following his display last time out. The Welshman scored his first goal of the season against Brentford last weekend, assisted by Raphinha who also makes the starting side.

Daniel James makes the line-up once again, as do usual suspects Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente and Stuart Dallas.

Leeds reshuffle the pack this weekend, with Adam Forshaw expected to occupy Kalvin Phillips' role in the England international's absence.

He provides a makeshift replacement for Phillips, while Luke Ayling replaces Liam Cooper in central defence with Jamie Shackleton starting on the right.

Full team news below.

Leeds United XI: Meslier, Shackleton, Ayling, Llorente, Firpo; Forshaw, Roberts, Dallas; Raphinha, Harrison, James
