Marcelo Bielsa has been pictured with a scouting report for FC St Pauli’s German midfielder Finn Ole Becker.
Leeds United are in the process of negotiating a new deal with Bielsa, but also assembling the squad they want to take into the Premier League next term.
While director of football Victor Orta takes the lead on deals in and out of Elland Road, Bielsa, naturally, is consulted on what business the club does.
Not for the first time, Bielsa was pictured by one member of the public in Costa this week, but what was more interesting was what he was photographed with.
Never too far from paperwork or football analysis, in this case Bielsa is seen resting his hand, with a pen, on a sheet of paper headed with Becker’s name and club on it.
The 20-year-old has made 33 appearances across the past two seasons for the Hamburg club in 2. Bundesliga, Germany’s second tier.
In January of this year, Becker was the subject of a scouting report by Total Football Analysis, which said: “Becker is an exceptional talent with some great qualities.
“Now we can describe him as a ball carrier, great dribbler and a good player to control the midfield.
“There are some areas where he needs to improve, but he is still only 19 (at the time) and he has his whole career ahead of him.
“I can see clubs from Bundesliga and Premier League already lining up for him this summer.”
