Marcelo Bielsa outlines Leeds United's plan for Liverpool upon Premier League return

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has declared that his side will push to 'deserve' victory in their maiden Premier League match against Liverpool.

The Whites travel to Anfield for their first top-flight game in 16 years and face a daunting task against the defending champions, led by Jurgen Klopp.

The usual expectations for a newly-promoted Premier League side against the reigning champions may usually not be that optimistic but the situation is different for Leeds.

Back in the big time following an agonising wait, Leeds are pushing to show they mean business and there is no greater opportunity than by causing an upset against Liverpool.

While other clubs may sit back to soak up the pressure, Bielsa has stated he is setting the bar high for his side as they want to ensure they are the best performers on the field.

"We play every game the same way, we try to deserve the victory and play better than the opponent. We don't ignore the difficulties but we're not going to lie down," he told Sky Sports.

"It's not a question of vanity, it's a question of conviction in the style of play and it's the only way I know, the only way we play."
