Here is the Leeds United morning digest on Friday 11th September.
Bielsa coy ahead of new season
Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed he will be staying on as the manager of the club.
Bielsa guided Leeds to promotion last season thanks to the Championship title and has been teasing fans all summer.
He has now said: "I will be working the next season at Leeds United," he confirmed via video conference as he gets set for a third season in West Yorkshire.
"Everything has been sorted and it's definite I will be here this season," he added.
This is clearly great news for fans.
Koch reveals reason for signing
New addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad Robin Koch has discussed his decision to sign for the club this summer.
The 24-year-old Koch revealed he was presented with detailed analysis of where he would fit into the team prior to his move, typically predictable of Marcelo Bielsa and his backroom team.
“The association really dealt with me extremely, I received a lot of emails, a lot of files, a lot of presentations. I was surprised at how precisely I was analysed,” the defender told German outlet BILD.
The former SC Freiburg man described how impressed he was with the level of detail and time that had been spent assessing his time in Germany and his game as a whole.
He cited Bielsa’s reputation, the draw of the Premier League and the “meticulousness” of the analysis he received as factors in his decision to sign for the Whites.
New faces fit to play at Anfield
Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa has described new signings Rodrigo and Robin Koch as being “in very good physical condition”, ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liverpool.
Bielsa could call on Koch and Rodrigo from the start as he looks to hit the ground running with a result over the Premier League champions.
The Argentine played down the notion that the pairing would take time to bed into the side, suggesting the duo have already integrated well and could be expected to play whenever he sees fit.
Aside from Adam Forshaw, Bielsa has a full squad to choose from for the team’s trip to Merseyside and will be presented with something of a selection headache for once.
