Marcelo Bielsa leaves out two key names in Leeds United team announcement

The team news has been confirmed for Leeds United's Boxing Day clash with Preston North End.

As confirmed by Marcelo Bielsa in his pre-match press conference, Pablo Hernandez (hamstring) and Adam Forshaw (hip) are out of the squad, while Jack Clarke - rumoured for an imminent recall by Tottenham Hotspur - also misses out.

The Argentinian suggested that the only change he would make from last week's 2-1 defeat at Fulham would be brining Gjanni Alioski in at left-back, with Stuart Dallas moving up into midfield for the injured Hernandez.

At least, that usual 4-1-4-1 is the system we're expecting Leeds to play in, but you never know if Bielsa has something else up his sleeve.

Eddie Nketiah, who played the second half at Craven Cottage last time out, remains on the bench alongside Illan Meslier, Gaetano Berardi, Pascal Struijk, Robbie Gotts, Jordan Stevens and Barry Douglas - who makes a surprise return after suggestions he's been ill.

Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton, who are reportedly fit again, miss out.

Kiko Casilla, Ben White, Dallas, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford continue their streak of starting every Whites match this season, while Kalvin Phillips will play at the base of midfield as usual.
