Leeds United make late change to starting XI as Liam Cooper suffers injury in warm-up

Marcelo Bielsa was forced into a late change ahead of Leeds United's clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

After announcing Leeds would play with the same team that saw off Preston midweek, skipper Liam Cooper pulled up in the warm-up, with Gaetano Berardi being drafted in to replace him in the starting XI.

Leif Davis has been called up to the bench and Luke Ayling will wear the captain's armband.

The news came after Millwall forced a draw out of Sheffield United in their 3pm kick-off, meaning Leeds will go three points clear of the Blades, if they can see off their cross-city neighbours in a sold out class at Elland Road.

Kiko Casilla remains in goal in front of a back four of Luke Ayling, Pontus Jansson, Berardi and Gjanni Alioski.

In midfielder, Kalvin Phillips will sit deepest, with Mateusz Klich and Tyler Roberts in front. Jack Harrison and Pablo Hernandez will provide the width as Bamford looks to build on his midweek Deepdale double.

Jack Clarke returns to the bench after he was absent from 18-man squad at Preston and replaces Jordan Stevens.

Leeds United: Casilla, Ayling, Jansson, Berardi, Alioski, Phillips, Klich, Roberts, Harrison, Hernandez, Bamford

Subs: Peacock-Farrell, Dallas, Davis, Shackleton, Roofe, Forshaw, Clarke

Sheffield Wednesday: Westwood, Palmer, Fox, Fletcher, Bannan, Hooper, Lees, Reach, Boyd, Huthinson, Hector

Sub: Dawson, Lazaar, Matias, Peluplessy, Winnall, Nuhiu, Forestieri
