Marcelo Bielsa issues Leeds United injury boost ahead of Millwall clash

Marcelo Bielsa has been handed an injury boost as Leeds United prepare for the visit of Millwall on Tuesday night.

The Whites will be able to welcome back Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton to the squad, after the head coach admitted that the 10-day break since the QPR defeat had come at a good time for the Whites.

"It was important for us - also the incorporation of Poveda, it allowed us to have more time with him. And also we had time to recover the players Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton who needed more time. So this time allows us to have three more players: Roberts, Shackleton and Poveda."

It's been a frustrating time for Tyler Roberts who has only played nine minutes since the end of November. He has been absent from the squad since the Birmingham game in December.

With Bielsa confirming there are no new injuries, the return of Roberts and Shackleton means he almost has a fully fit squad to chose from.

Gaetano Berardi missed the trip to QPR with an unspecified injury but Bielsa commented that they expected him to 'return fast' and he may be an option for Millwall.

Adam Forshaw has been limited to just 45 minutes on the pitch since the end of August with a hip injury. He has returned to light training on the grass in recent weeks, but given the length of his lay-off, he is not yet ready to return to action.

Leeds United head into the clash against the Lions looking for a win on the back of two straight league defeats.
