Marcelo Bielsa hits back at suggestion he'll walk away from Leeds United amid difficult results

Leeds United's recent form has been somewhat troubling, conceding twelve goals in their last three Premier League games, most recently succumbing to a 7-0 defeat against Manchester City.

Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa faced questions surrounding his future in his pre-match press conference ahead of the team's game with Arsenal this weekend.

The Argentine vehemently denied any suggestion he would contemplate walking away from the club mid-season, when posed with the question by a journalist.

"Of course I'm going to continue fighting until the end of the season," Bielsa insisted. "[If you] Listen to what I said before, that I said I always think upon adversity you always have to fight. You never know if the strength is going to be enough and what is the progression of the difficulties that we've come up against.

"Having said that, I'm going to fight until the end of the season without any doubts and I hope that nothing happens that doesn't allow me to act [upon] what I've just said."

Bielsa was also asked whether he feared for the safety of his job, replying with a question of his own: "Do you think that there's a coach that is unsackable?"

"Do you think I'm so vain that I don't think I can be sacked?" he rebuffed.

This was a different but somewhat relieving side to Bielsa after Tuesday evening's downtrodden admission that Leeds' defeat at Manchester City was - in his opinion - the worst performance he had witnessed from his team in four years.

The squad have been looking ahead to Arsenal this week, and with Bielsa's future clarified firmly by the man himself, both players and fans can focus on on-pitch matters as opposed to off-field chatter.
