Marcelo Bielsa has already told Arsenal about Ben White's two key qualities amid transfer deal

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has already heaped praise on Ben White ahead of his expected transfer to Arsenal this summer.

It is set to be a busy summer transfer window at Arsenal as chief executive Edu looks to offload several of the Gunners' underperforming senior players in an attempt to raise funds for younger replacements with sky-high potential.

One of the players who is set to join Arsenal is Brighton centre-back White, with a £50million deal expected to be completed between the clubs.

The move would be a huge coup for the Gunners as the Englishman could be the perfect replacement for veteran ball-playing defender David Luiz, who is leaving the club at the end of the month.

White spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Bielsa's Leeds, featuring in all 46 of the Whites' Championship games as they won promotion back to the English top flight.

Bielsa was particularly impressed with White's excellent professionalism during their time in Yorkshire together, citing it as one of the key attributes that will help him succeed throughout his career.

"All of us here admire him as a player," Bielsa said back in January. "We respect him and love him as a human being. He was an excellent professional as well as a teammate. I hope his career allows him to grow because he deserves it."

The Argentine also named White's resilience as one of his most impressive assets last summer.

"He has a lot of steps to give and the most important one is how he reacts when he cannot play well," Bielsa continued.

"So for example, the 'keepers can be important and have a good memory because if they have a mistake at the beginning of the game and they are playing the game thinking about the mistake they had, it makes them play worse.

"If you move this idea to a centre-back, it’s very important to see how he reacts when he has a mistake. In a player, it is very important for regularity then it is important to keep this regularity when you are suffering from mistakes that keep you weak."

White featured 39 times for Brighton last season across all competitions, consistently performing for the Seagulls to earn himself a place in England's Euro 2020 squad.
