Marcelo Bielsa gives update on Pablo Hernandez's fitness ahead of West Brom clash

Pablo Hernandez will again be missing for Leeds United for tomorrow night's clash against West Brom.

The Spaniard was absent as Leeds suffered a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic on Saturday and is still continuing to recover from a hip injury ahead of the Tuesday evening clash against the table-topping Baggies.

" Hernandez is still finishing his recovery," Bielsa said during his Monday lunchtime press conference.

Asked if the winger would be fit to face Millwall this weekend, the Whites head coach was unable to give a firm answer.

"I couldn’t say that. I have to wait to see how his recovery completes."

Hernandez was suffering from a muscle injury that he sustained in the warm-up prior to the 1-1 draw with Derby County earlier this month.

He was replaced by Helder Costa for the 1-0 reverse at The Valley, with the Wolves loanee making his first Championship start for the Whites.

Bielsa also spoke about how much his side missed the 34-year-old in south London.

"There are two complimentary views," he continued. "You always miss one player like Pablo when he is not in the team. The second is we are in good condition to put a player in to replace him.

"Proof: one offensive game against Derby was the same with Charlton. In both games we have created similar enough chances to score. For this reason, we miss Pablo, we cannot say otherwise, but the team can resolve his absence."

West Brom head to Elland Road for the televised clash as the Championship leaders following Leeds' failure to beat Charlton and the Baggies' 2-0 win at QPR.
