Marcelo Bielsa gives full Leeds United injury update ahead of trip to Fulham

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed who will and won't be available for Leeds United 's all-important clash with Fulham on Saturday.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference at Thorp Arch, the Argentinian confirmed that the Whites would be boosted by the availability of their club captain at Craven Cottage.

As he confirmed himself earlier in the week, Liam Cooper is fully fit and expected to return to the centre of defence alongside Ben White after Leeds let a three-goal lead slip against Cardiff in his absence last Saturday, though Bielsa was keen to stress that wasn't due to his absence.

It's a timely return after missing the last three games, with Fulham boasting the league's top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic with 16 goals so far.

Adam Forshaw and Tyler Roberts remain sidelined, while Jamie Shackleton - who is close to a return - won't make it either.

However, Bielsa gave a positive update on Roberts and Shackleton's development as the young duo could potentially start to play a role over the Christmas fixture pile-up.

"Cooper is back with the team," said Bielsa.

"Cooper's characteristics are not different to the players who played the last match, last season we received goals similar to the goals against Cardiff, obviously we can not explain the result but it wasn't how we controlled the match that allowed us to think we were going to draw the match.

"Tyler is healthy, as is Shackleton, but with Forshaw there is no information so far.

"They [Roberts and Shackleton] will return to training next week."

Fulham, sixth in the table, have lost their last three matches and come into the fixture 12 points behind Leeds.
