Marcelo Bielsa gives full injury update on Eddie Nketiah ahead of Reading trip

Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah will be back training with his teammates 'next Thursday' so he won't be ready for tomorrow night's Championship match against Reading, Marcelo Bielsa has revealed.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Reading, Bielsa confirmed the same group of players will face Reading that beat Luton Town at the weekend.

Nketiah has been out of the picture since the start of the month when he fell victim to a lower abdominal injury the night before what should have been his first league start for the Whites against QPR.

As well as missing the Reading game, it also looks unlikely that he will feature in Saturday's fixture against Middlesbrough.

In his absence Patrick Bamford has come into some form, scoring in the last two fixtures.

"It’s going to be the same group of players", Bielsa told the media.

"There is nothing new to say.

"Next Thursday [Eddie Nketiah] is going to work, train with the group. And from there we’ll see how it’s going with him."

Liam Cooper returned for Leeds United following an injury against Blackburn Rovers. The Leeds United captain started on the bench but replaced Gaetano Berardi in the 59th minute during a stage of game when it looked as though Leeds had lost control after conceding an equaliser, then conceding again shortly afterwards although the goal was disallowed.

Leeds play Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night. Kick off is at 8pm.
