Marcelo Bielsa favourite touted as first Leeds United exit of the transfer window

Leeds United talent Leif Davis is a wanted man this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Davis is the subject of interest from Championship outfit Stoke City as well as League One Portsmouth.

The young left-back joined Leeds in 2018 from Morecambe, the 20-year-old making seven league appearances since for the senior side.

With Leeds winning promotion and with no starter spot open for Davis, a loan move for next season seems inevitable.

And according to the Mirror, Stoke and Pompey could offer that opportunity with Leeds preferring the former.

The report read: "The promising left-back has made 10 appearances during the past two seasons under Marcelo Bielsa... and signed a new three-and-a-half year deal tying him to Leeds until the summer of 2023.

"But with Stuart Dallas, Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski ahead of him in the pecking order, Davis is set to gain experience elsewhere.

"Championship Potters would be Leeds' preferred option."

Davis was once linked with a £4m move to Liverpool, even after he recovered from knee surgery, but it never materialised.

This season, he made five senior appearances in all competitions, including three in the league, all of which came before Christmas.
