Marcelo Bielsa has said that competition for places in his Leeds team is the reason that Spurs Loanee Jack Clarke isn't getting game time so far this season.
The youngster joined Tottenham in a deal worth £10m during the summer, before going back to his former club on loan. However, the move back to his former club hasn't quite gone as expected.
The 18-year-old has failed to make a League appearance for the Whites this season, and has been left out of manager Marcelo Bielsa's last three league squads.
Clarke did make his second appearance in the Carabao Cup in the week, when Leeds faced Stoke City, but after a disappointing first half he was replaced by Jack Harrison at the half time break.
When asked about Clarke's disappointing start to the season, Bielsa revealed that his lack of game time was due to him fighting with five other players for a place in the starting lineup, and has to show what he can do in order to break back into the team.
"He showed in previous times that he is an unbalanced player," the Leeds boss told the Yorkshire Evening Post . "He has to show this again, the skills that he has. There are five players who he is fighting with to adapt into the team.
"He's fighting for his position like everyone. He's doing this. I'm always watching and analysing everything the behaviour. We then make our conclusions for the team. Sometimes I am right and wrong with all the players."
As reveled by football.london , should Clarke's loan continue to not work out, Spurs do have the option of recalling him in order to try and aid his development.
