Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has said it would be "ideal" if Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah were to remain with the club beyond the end of this season.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at the Championship side from Arsenal , having joined on a season-long deal back in the summer transfer window.
Since then, he has scored five goals in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Whites, although he has been out injured in recent weeks.
He has now returned to training though ahead of Leeds' game with Middlesbrough this weekend, and Bielsa has been speaking about his future at Leeds, amid reports that Arsenal could look to recall the young forward in January.
However, Bielsa said he wants Nketiah to stay at Leeds beyond January and beyond the end of the season, if possible.
"That would be ideal," he said ( via Leeds Live ).

"I hope he continues and I wish he wants to stay with us.
"I think Eddie's integration into Leeds is going to be good if he stays in January and one more year.
"What we try is that he feels that Leeds is the proper place for him to develop.
"But obviously we cannot compete with top teams in the Premier League, but I am sure that if Nketiah succeeds here in Leeds the next step is going to be the top clubs in the Premier League."
Bielsa added that Nketiah has trained well since returning to first team training, although he said he was probably going to play with the Whites' U23 side, adding that it would be normal to take some time to get back to the first team after a spell on the sidelines.
