Marcelo Bielsa delivers Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha injury updates plus Helder Costa blow

Marcelo Bielsa says Leeds United will have to until Saturday to determine if Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are fit to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, while Helder Costa has been ruled out of the final four matches of the season.

The trio were all missing last weekend when Leeds saw their six-match unbeaten streak end with a 2-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion and Bielsa confirmed that Phillips and Raphinha are both being monitored on a day-by-day basis ahead of the Spurs' visit to Elland Road in Saturday's lunchtime clash.

"They are being evaluated on a daily basis to see whether they are available," Bielsa said in his pre-match press conference.

Asked if he was hopeful that either would win their fitness battle, the Whites boss refused to speculate.

"We have to wait until Saturday," he continued, before being asked if they had managed to return to training yet.

"Their presence is subject to an evaluation that is carried out on a daily basis," he added.

Costa meanwhile, has now been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after he suffered a back injury against Manchester United which saw him sit out the Brighton defeat.

"No, he won't be able to compete again this season," Bielsa stated.

Phillips missed out on the trip to the south coast with a knock to his knee, with his side going on to register their seventh defeat in the nine games he has missed so far this term.

Raphinha has been absent for Leeds' last three matches after he limped out of last month's win over Manchester City in the closing stages following a heavy tackle from his compatriot Fernandinho.

Skipper Liam Cooper is available again after he completed his three-match suspension following his red card at the Etihad Stadium.

Adam Forshaw continues his recovery from a long-term absence after he picked up a minor muscular issue in his return with the under-23s last month.

Leeds begin the weekend sitting 11th in the Premier League table, five places and nine points behind Ryan Mason's Tottenham side, who are currently five points adrift of a top-four place.
