Marcelo Bielsa delivers injury update on Leeds star Raphinha ahead of Liverpool clash

Leeds stars Raphinha and Rodrigo are a doubt ahead of the clash with Liverpool on Monday.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa provided an injury update to say both attacking players are recovering from injuries they have suffered in the last week.

Raphinha has only missed one Premier League game since arriving at Elland Road this term and has shone throughout the campaign.

The Brazil winger's performances and versatility to play in several positions across the midfield has seen him linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

His absence will be a big loss for the newly-promoted Championship winners while striker Rodrigo has featured in 21 top flight matches for Leeds this season, having only missed games due to injury or illness.

"Raphinha's recovering from a knock at City," Bielsa said. "We will see in the next couple of days.

"He received a knock in his thigh. This knock caused an internal hematoma - Raphinha that is. Rodrigo - process of recovering from a muscular injury obtained last week."

Leeds have scored more goals from outside the area than any other side in the Premier League.

Bielsa was asked for his thoughts on that statistic and the Argentinian football coach hinted as to how he wants his side to play.

He added: "Sincerely, I did not know this. Comes to my attention.

"Throughout the week, we insist a lot on the wings. I would adhere those to the influence and characteristics of the players in the centre."
