Marcelo Bielsa delivers blunt Leeds United update on Raphinha and Jamie Shackleton injury status

Leeds United were beaten in the capital once again this evening as the Whites saw two goals from Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah extinguish any faint hopes of a cup run this season.

Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates' Stadium, where Leeds finished with four teenagers on the pitch.

Raphinha joined Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo and Robin Koch on the treatment table last Saturday, substituted with a suspected knock to his ankle following a late Romain Saiss tackle.

The winger posted an update on social media after the game suggesting his premature withdrawal was merely precautionary.

He posted on Instagram: ”Hello guys. Just coming to say I’m fine. It was nothing serious.

“So I’m back soon. Thank you for all the messages and concern of all.”

Jamie Shackleton was also absent from this evening's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal, but according to Bielsa should still be in line to appear at Norwich City on Sunday.

The coach also confirmed Raphinha should be available at Carrow Road on Sunday, despite his absence at the Emirates.

Posed with the question of Shackleton and Raphinha's availability this weekend, and whether they had picked up any issues, Bielsa replied: "We think not," before concluding the press conference.

Leeds visit Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon knowing that anything less than three points will be a disappointment.
