Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has admitted that new signing Jean-Kevin Augustin is unlikely to feature against Millwall on Tuesday - despite being eligible to play.
The Whites from RB Leipzig on Monday.
The EFL deadline for any player to partake in mid-week matches is Monday at midday, meaning Augustin was just made eligible to make his debut against the play-off chasing Lions on Tuesday night.
However, Leeds United fans are unlikely to get their first glimpse of the striker in all White until the weekend against Wigan Athletic, Bielsa has confirmed.
"I don’t think he’s going to be involved tomorrow. He arrived today," Bielsa admitted in his pre-match press conference on Monday.
On Augustin, he added: "For the other question, we didn’t have an order in priorities.
"We verified all the of the options Victor gave us. All of them were good. And finally, it was the option of Augustin we could do.
"He’s a centre forward with movement, mobility. He’s involved in the combined play from the team. And he has a lot of presence in the box and he’s going to be useful for the needs we have."
Augustin will wear the number 29 shirt for the Whites and the club hold the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
Augustin came through the ranks with French outfit Paris Saint-Germain and went on to make his senior debut for the club back in April 2015.
In July 2017, he completed a move to German side Red Bull Leipzig for a reported fee of €13m.
The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at AS Monaco but struggled for game time, scoring just one goal in all competitions.
