Marcelo Bielsa confirms Leeds United's line-up to face Arsenal as key man loses fitness battle

Marcelo Bielsa has been forced into one change for Leeds United's trip to Arsenal as Kalvin Phillips misses out through injury.

The England midfielder limped off in the closing stages of the Whites' 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday evening and misses out at the Emirates.

Replacing him in the starting XI is Jamie Shackleton, who makes his second start of the Premier League season.

Illan Meslier continues in goal as he returns to the scene of his Leeds United debut in last year's FA Cup third-round tie.

Pascal Struijk appears set to replace Phillips in midfield, meaning that Luke Ayling will move back into the middle of the defence alongside Liam Cooper.

Stuart Dallas and Jamie Shackelton are both candidates to fill in at right-back with Gjanni Alioski at left-back.

Struijk will therefore play with either Shackleton or Dallas in the middle, with Mateusz Klich is set to play in the number 10 role.

In-form duo Raphinha and Jack Harrison continue on the flanks with leading goalscorer Patrick Bamford again leading the line.

Pablo Hernandez returns to the bench following his recent injury lay-off, with Joe Gelhardt again featuring in the 20-man matchday squad.

Leeds begin the day sitting tenth in the Premier Leauge, one place and one point ahead of today's hosts, who claimed a 0-0 draw at Elland Road in November.

Leeds United XI: Meslier, Ayling, Cooper, Struijk, Alioski, Harrison, Shackleton, Klich, Dallas, Raphinha, Bamford

Subs: Casilla, Roberts, Costa, Hernandez, Davi, Gelhardt, Jenkins, Huggins, Cresswell
