Marcelo Bielsa confirms Leeds United injury setback ahead of crucial Brentford clash

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed who is in and who is out of Leeds United's all-important trip to Brentford - and Tyler Roberts is the latest player to be sidelined.

It's crunch time for the Whites, who have lost four of the last five games and are in danger of dropping out of the automatic promotion positions for the first time since October if they fail to win at Griffin Park, last doing so there 70 years ago.

Roberts has suffered with setbacks all season and appeared to be struggling after coming off the bench at Forest, leaving the City Ground on crutches.

"He's not going to be able to play tomorrow," Bielsa responded to a question regarding Roberts' fitness.

"He took a strong kick. It was incredible after this kick that he continued in the match. He proved that he's really engaged with the team and was a really brave player to continue with the team.

"It's a kick in the calf but he's not injured. It's just a big kick."

Leeds will be boosted by the return of midfield enforcer Kalvin Phillips, who is available again after serving the last of his three-match suspension in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

"Phillips comes back into the team," the Leeds manager added.

"He's always been an important player. But in those three matches he wasn't there, we could replace him without the fear he wasn't there. But we can always count on him to make our team more rigid."

No other injuries were mentioned by the Argentinian, meaning it's only Roberts and Adam Forshaw remaining unavailable out of the senior players.

Meanwhile, Brentford's Pontus Jansson is a doubt to face his former club, having been sidelined with a hip injury for the past month.
