Marcelo Bielsa confirms Kalvin Phillips injury ahead of Leeds United clash at Brighton

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Kalvin Phillips and Helder Costa are both missing through injury after the pair were absent from the squad to face Brighton & Hove Albion.

"Kalvin picked up a knock behind his knee and Helder has an injury to his back," Bielsa said on Amazon Prime before kick-off.

Phillips was one of two changes enforced on Bielsa this afternoon, with Helder Costa, who was subbed off injured during Leeds' goalless draw with Manchester United last weekend, also missing out.

Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich replace the injured duo in the starting line-up.

England midfielder Phillips has made 25 Premier League appearances for the Whites this season, with a shoulder injury keeping him out for three matches in the autumn, while a calf issue sidelined him in earlier this year.

Without Phillips in their team, Leeds have lost six of eight matches, highlighting his importance to Bielsa's side.

Leeds are riding a six-match unbeaten run as they take on the Seagulls on the south coast.
