Marcelo Bielsa booked during first-half of Leeds United's ill-tempered clash against Aston Villa

Marcelo Bielsa was issued a yellow card during the first half of an increasingly ill-tempered first-half against Aston Villa.

The two play-off hopefuls were both able to fashion a number of chances in the opening 45 minutes as they went in goalless at the break, but the key talking points centered around the performance of referee Stuart Attwell.

After a series of debatable decisions - often involving Jack Grealish -  went Aston Villa's way in the first-half, the Elland Roa crowd erupted in the 22nd minute when Liam Cooper was booked for a tackle on the Villa skipper.

As tensions between the two sides increased as the half went on, Marcelo Bielsa had plenty to say to the fourth official Darren England who was situated between the two dugouts and he would eventually talk himself into the referees book, with Attwell issuing him with a yellow card at the end of the half.

With yellow cards for coaching staff only being introduced this season, Bielsa becomes the first Leeds boss to be issued with a caution.
