Marcella actress Anna Friel appeared on This Morning on Tuesday, as the third series of Marcella is set to debut, and revealed she and her daughter Gracie, 15, battled Covid late last year.
Anna, 44, told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby : "Everyone is finding this lockdown harder, as we expected it to be harder.
"We both had Covid over Christmas, we spent it in bed," said the star, who shares her daughter with former partner David Thewlis.
"It really helped having a brother on the frontline," she continued.
"He gave me so much guidance, I had so much vitamin C that it came out of my ears. I appreciated nature more than everything after I was allowed out of my house."
Speaking about how her life has changed in the last year, Anna said: "Life is a little different. I was on my way to a premiere a year ago and who would have thought a year on we'd still be in lockdown.

"The good thing about these things is that I only have to do half my hair. If I turn around, my hair is like a bush!"
Anna spoke about the new series of Marcella, which was filmed in Northern Ireland meaning she was able to spend time with her extended family who live out there.
"I was told I have 82 cousins in Belfast, all my family are still there so there were able to visit the set, the neighbourhood was so kind – they left flowers for me," she said.
"[Marcella] has taken on a new identity and she's blonde," Anna teased.
"There are many emotional scars and there's a surprise further in the series, you'll see exactly after she comes out of the tunnel, and you'll see what she does with her scars in its full glory.
"It's a big departure from the first series," she added.
