Marc McNulty's two-match ban accepted by Hibs as striker pays price for Sean Clare derby stamp

Marc McNulty will miss Hibs' next two games after the club decided against appealing the Scotland international's stamp on Hearts star Sean Clare.

A fast track tribunal had been set for Monday, March 9 but the Easter Road side have accepted the SFA 's notice of complaint in wake of the striker's moment of madness.

It was a bad night all round for the Leith side as Hearts rejuvenated their desperate Premiership season with a morale-boosting 3-1 win.

The incident was missed by referee Kevin Clancy but TV cameras caught the unsavoury incident and McNulty was reprimanded on Thursday.

And now Hibs have confirmed they will not look to get their key man's ban overturned.

McNulty was was charged with rule 200,  which states: "Where any one of the sending off offences of (A1) serious foul play, (A2) violent conduct, and (A3) spitting at an opponent or any other person is committed by a player at a match, but that sending off offence was not seen by any of the match officials at the time that it was committed, the mandatory suspension for that sending off offence as provided for in Annex C of the Judicial Panel Protocol shall be applied to the player.”

The Reading loan star will be in the stands for games against Aberdeen and St Johnstone.
