I'm really beginning to feel like I'm changing my ways and saving money at the same time.
Writing about how I'm using the EcoManager is keeping it at the forefront of my mind so I don't lapse into bad habits. The ability to switch everything off from the central EcoManager unit is also making it a lot easier for me to remember to do it as well.
I used to always have the TV on in my room, even if I was in the office or the kitchen, just for background noise, and sometimes the radio, too. Now I turn it off at the mains when I leave the room or from the central EcoManager unit and in the past week neither me nor my sister have left our TVs on standby, which should make a real difference to our quarterly bills.
Hopefully, the cash we're saving on energy can be put towards my spending money when I visit Australia next year for a couple of tennis tournaments.
Perhaps I should test how much our extra freezer was costing us, too, then I can add those savings to my list as well. I can't say I've ever looked forward to receiving an electricity bill before, but I'll be quite keen to see our next one to see what a difference the EcoManager has made.
