Marathon Long Login Queues Issue

If you are experiencing long queues while trying to log in to Marathon, you're not alone. The final test ahead of release, the Marathon Server Slam, is now live, and a massive number of players are rushing in to test out the new extraction shooter ahead of release. Why are long Marathon login queues happening, and what can you do about them? Here's what we know.

Marathon Long Queues Login Issue Explained

Let's kick things off by saying immediately that this is not something you can simply "fix." The long queues during the Server Slam peak hours were expected, and even the developers warned that this would likely happen during the stress test open weekend. Simply put, the game is currently free for everyone to test, and the servers are intentionally overloaded in order to test the infrastructure and see how it handles massive player numbers.

Expect long queues during peak hours for European and American players specifically. That means that around 6–9 pm CET and 12–1 pm ET, the game will experience the highest possible player load, and some login issues will most likely happen during these hours. Of course, that doesn't mean that you won't experience similar issues at other parts of the day as well.

Marathon Long Queue Times - Can You Fix It?

Unfortunately, as I've previously said, it is currently not possible to fix this issue simply because there's nothing to be fixed. The servers are overloaded due to a massive influx of players wanting to test the game ahead of its release on March 5th. However, while there is no fix, here are a comple things you can do.

  • Whatever you do, DO NOT leave the queue, or your position will reset, resulting in you waiting even longer.
  • You don't need to sit and wait for your turn to log in to the game. Once your time comes, you'll enter the game without requiring any additional input from you, so feel free to do other stuff while waiting.
  • If Marathon login queues are way too long, you can simply turn off the game and try again in a couple of hours, when the pressure on the servers is not as strong. Not ideal, but better than waiting in vain.

I know this is probably not what you wanted to read, but that's how it is. There is no magical solution for long queues when servers are at their maximum capacity. You will simply have to wait a little and hope that your time comes.

Marathon Login Queues FAQs

Why is there a long queue time in Marathon?

Because there's a massive number of players wanting to try the game while it's free. The servers can not handle such massive numbers simultaneously.

Why can't I log into Marathon?

Because the servers are currently slow and are processing all requests very slowly. Be patient or try another time.

When does the Marathon Server Slam end?

The Server Slam is set to end on Monday, March 2, at 10 am PT, 1 pm ET, 7 pm CET.

Does server slam supports cross-play and cross-save?

Yes, the game fully supports both cross-play and cross-save during the Server Slam and on the full release.

If there's a long queue time in Marathon, can I switch the server?

No, you cannot change servers at this time. The game has dedicated servers for regions, but you are deployed automatically, and you cannot manually change your server.

So there you have it - now you know why there are long queue times in the Marathon Server Slam. If you are experiencing Marathon login queues and cannot log into the game, simply wait a bit or try again later, and you should be able to enter.
