Maps reveal exact Glasgow areas hit by new lockdown restrictions

The new restrictions on household visits to help try and curb the rise in coronavirus cases affects three different council areas, namely Glasgow city, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire.

The restrictions, which came into force from midnight on September 1, mean that people who live in these areas (around 800,000 in total) should not host those from other households in their own homes or visit another person's home.

And although they will remain in place for two weeks and will be subject to review by the Scottish Government next week, Nicola Sturgeon this morning warned that the Glasgow-style restrictions in "is the reality we are going to be living with potentially for some time to come".

For folk that might be unsure if their house of flat falls under the area in and around Glasgow which is subject to the new restrictions, The Scottish Government published maps for the local council areas affected on their website.

You can have a look at all three maps below:

People can also use the UK Government’s postcode checker HERE to find out what council their property is based within to check if they fall within the council area affected if need be too.
