Snow is expected to blanket large parts of the North just the week before the Easter Weekend.
Forecasters at WXCHARTS are predicting snowfalls in the early hours of Thursday, March 30 — which is only eight days before the Good Friday bank holiday. It is expected to fall across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Cumbria, and Derbyshire.
However, current forecasts do not predict snow to fall on Greater Manchester. The expectations for a chilly end to March follow a wintry start to the month.

WXCHARTS’ forecast is also supported by the long-range Met Office outlook for March 30 - April 13. Released yesterday (March 15), it said: “From the start of this period, likely to see a change, quite quickly, towards less unsettled weather with often dry conditions becoming more likely across the northern half of the country, and any wetter conditions tending to become more confined to the south.
“Temperatures are likely to slowly trend below average as a result of somewhat more settled conditions but given the time of year, wintry hazards will probably become increasingly transient through the period.”
Even if it is cold, it will at least be light. The clocks spring forward at 1am on Sunday, March 26, in the UK this year — so by the time snow hits the country on March 30, the sun will be setting at 7:41pm in Manchester that evening.
