Map shows which areas of Nottinghamshire recorded most coronavirus deaths

An interactive map has laid bare the extent of the pandemic on Nottinghamshire and its communities.

The map, put together by the Office for National Statistics, shows the areas which recorded the most coronavirus deaths in the first four months of the pandemic.

While the data set only shows the deaths involving Covid-19 that occurred between March and June this year, it provides an insight into the effects of the pandemic before, during and after the first peak in April.

For example, in Woodthorpe and the Arno Vale Road area, 21 deaths have been recorded in this period.

The majority of these however, a total of 15, were reported during the month of April.

The UK experienced the peak of the first wave of the virus during April, following the introduction of the national lockdown.

Most other areas also replicate this trend, with most deaths occurring during the month of April.
